"Green Building Design" is a new name for the level of performance that Mechanical Consultants Inc. Engineering Division has been providing since 1982. All mechanical systems that we have designed meet or exceed the requirements of the Kansas State Energy Code that was adopted in 1991. This code is based upon the recommendations of ASHRAE Standard 90.1 - "Energy Standard for Buildings", which has been updated every (3) years since its inception. Even though the requirements of the state energy code have remained fixed since its adoption in 1991, the building mechanical systems designed by us have always met the more stringent standards as they were revised. So today's "Green Building Designs", which are based upon the very same energy conservation standards we have utilized for the last 17 years are nothing new to us. |
